Are you crossing to Wales via Lundy?

We don’t know yet! That’s the question in the minds of the round UK paddlers Natalie and Michal tonight. Not being familiar with the crossing, I did a quick Google maps check. And I estimate it to be 20km to Lundy from the north coast of Devon and then a 5-6 km respite up the coast of Lundy then a 50km open crossing to the south coast of Wales. Not for the faint-hearted. Follow them on their onwards progress via their excellent blog HomeSeaHome and photographs plus SPOT tracking. Spur them on by leaving a comment and support their excellent cause.

Lundy crossing

An estimated 75km crossing from Devon to Wales via Lundy

The biggest crossing I have done is a mere 13km in comparison, and I found this to be challenging enough in terms of not getting disheartened or over-whelmed. What’s yours?  What are your tips, strategies for longer distances?
